Privacy Policy – Vaultify
Effective date: September 3, 2025
Vaultify ("we", "our", or "us") provides a personal data vault app. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.
1. Summary
Vaultify is designed with privacy first. Your vault contents are stored on your device and, if you enable backup or sync, they may also be stored in services you choose (e.g., your cloud provider). We do not sell your personal data.
2. What we collect
- Account/Contact info (optional): If you contact support, we receive your email and any details you provide.
- Usage diagnostics (optional): If you opt‑in, we may collect anonymous crash logs and basic analytics to improve stability.
- Vault contents: The items you store (e.g., notes, documents, passwords) are encrypted and saved on your device. We cannot access them.
3. How we use data
- Provide, maintain, and improve the app.
- Respond to support requests.
- Diagnose crashes and performance issues when diagnostics are enabled.
4. On‑device processing
Vault contents are encrypted at rest on your device. Sensitive operations (like encryption, search index building, and key handling) are performed on‑device. If you enable cloud backup/sync, encrypted data may be transmitted to your chosen provider; your encryption key is never shared by us.
5. Sharing & disclosures
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not share vault contents with third parties.
- Service providers may process limited data (e.g., crash reports) strictly to provide their service to us.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
6. App permissions
- Storage/Photos/Files: To save and retrieve your encrypted items and attachments.
- Biometrics (Face/Touch ID): To unlock your vault on the device. Biometric templates never leave your device.
- Network access (optional): For backups/sync or sending crash reports if enabled.
7. Data retention
Support correspondence is retained as long as necessary to resolve your issue and for legitimate business needs. Diagnostics, when enabled, are retained in accordance with the provider’s standard retention schedules. Vault contents remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
8. Security
- On‑device encryption for vault contents.
- Best‑practice cryptography and key management.
- Transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for any data sent to or from the app.
9. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We may ask you to verify your request from the email associated with your use of the app.
11. Third‑party services
We may use the following optional services (only if enabled in the app settings):
- Crash reporting/analytics: e.g., Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry (anonymous diagnostics).
- Cloud backup/sync: Your chosen provider (e.g., Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox) stores encrypted vault blobs.
- In‑app purchases: Google Play billing for subscriptions or one‑time purchases.
Each provider’s processing is governed by its own privacy policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements, legal requirements, or new features. We will update the Effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in‑app.
